Investigator assessment

Analysis narrative

The pilot stated he performed a precautionary landing to an off-airport site and after an extended engine run up, he elected to depart. Before departing, he said he walked about 20 ft to check the surface conditions of the takeoff site. During the takeoff roll the right main landing gear struck a hole and rock, the airplane pitched left, nosed over and came to rest inverted. The pilot reported there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
