Analysis narrative
The pilot reported that, while practicing stop-and-go landings on a remote gravel bar in a tailwheel-equipped airplane, the airplane encountered a wind shift during the landing flare. The pilot added power and attempted to go-around; however, the airplane got too slow, and the left wing dropped. The airplane subsequently impacted terrain, which caused substantial damage to the right wing and horizontal stabilizer. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
