Analysis narrative
The pilot stated that he was attempting to land on a hard surface runway in his amphibious airplane when he got distracted and failed to use the before landing checklist and extend the landing gear. The pilot subsequently landed on the hull resulting in substantial damage to the composite structure. The pilot reported there were no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures of the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
