During landing the aircraft touched down on the main landing gear and the nose landing gear touched down hard. The aircraft bounced into the air and then landed hard on the nose landing gear. The nose landing gear collapsed and the aircraft skidded off the runway and came to rest.

Factual narrative
On March 21, 1995, about 1321 eastern standard time, a Cessna 182Q, N759LH, registered to Catawba Valley Air Inc., sustained collapse of the nose landing gear during landing at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while on a 14 CFR Part 91 personnel flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the private-rated pilot and two passengers were not injured. The flight originated from Fort Myers, Florida, on March 21, 1995, about 1200. The pilot stated during landing the aircraft touched down on the main landing gear. The nose landing gear touched down hard and the aircraft bounced into the air. The aircraft then touched down on the nose landing gear and it collapsed. The aircraft then skidded off the side of the runway and came to rest. -
