Factual narrative
On November 30, 1995, about 1350 eastern standard time, N39LK, a homebuilt Koutz Q-200, collided with an airport sign on landing at Valdosta Airport, Valdosta Georgia, while on a 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed for the local flight. The commercial-rated pilot reported no injuries and the airplane was substantially damaged. The flight had originated about 30 minutes earlier. The pilot stated that while on landing roll on runway 35 he lost control of the airplane and struck an airport sign. -
