Analysis narrative
The CESSNA 152 had flown for about fours hours since its last refueling when it sustained a loss of power and the student pilot attempted a forced landing. The aircraft was damaged during the forced landing, and the fuel line to the carburetor was separated. The student pilot stated that the fuel gauges had indicated about 1/4 tanks before the loss of power. No mechanical discrepancies to the engine were noted by FAA inspectors.
