Probable cause

The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control and his improper brake usage during the landing roll in a crosswind condition.

Analysis narrative

The pilot reported that the airplane swerved during the landing roll in crosswind conditions and that he excessively applied the brakes to correct for that swerve. The airplane subsequently nosed over, resulting in substantial damage to the wings, vertical stabilizer, and rudder. The pilot reported no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airframe or engine that would have precluded normal operation.
