Analysis narrative
The pilot reported that while maneuvering in a canyon over a river, the airplane collided with an unmarked powerline. Subsequently, the airplane impacted the water and both occupants exited before the airplane sank. The airplane was not recovered from the river and was presumed substantially damaged. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
