Investigator assessment
Analysis narrative
The pilot reported that, while taxiing the airplane he encountered gusty wind conditions. The airplane’s propeller produced a significant amount of dust while taxiing, which then surrounded the airplane, limiting the pilot’s visibility. At the same time, a strong gust of wind turned the airplane and its left wing subsequently impacted a parked trailer near the taxiway, which resulted in substantial damage to the left wing and fuselage. The pilot reported no evidence of any preaccident mechanical malfunctions or anomalies with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
