Preliminary narrative
On June 5, 2026, about 1130 mountain daylight time, a Cessna P210N airplane, N54CC, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at Dona Ana County International Jetport Airport (DNA), Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The pilot and 2 passengers were seriously injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations personal flight. A witness, who was also a flight instructor located at an airport hangar, reported that the airplane was on an approach to runway 28 and never touched down on the runway. The airplane was then observed at a high angle of attack and subsequently stalled and spun into the ground. The airplane came to rest on the left side of the runway in a ditch. Postaccident examination of the airplane revealed that the fuselage and right wing sustained substantial damage. The airplane was retained for further examination.
